Salmon River/ Lake Ontario Report 9/7

published 07 September 2017

The Salmon River is flowing at 335 CFS until midnight tonight. The fishing is very good right now from the 81 pool downstream to the Black hole, there are good numbers of Kings and Coho's in the lower river. Action on the Salmon River yesterday was excellent for this early in the season. This weekend is shaping up to be a good one with lots more fish below the route 3 bridge. Fishing on Lake Ontario also continues to be very good in 20 to 80 feet of water off the Salmon River. Here's one of the Kings that Dave Falato caught yesterday at the Staircase with a couple hundred fishing going by late afternoon.
