Salmon River Fishing Report 11/10/20 published 10 November 2020
Sorry for posting a day late.
The fishing has been outstanding, and we had to take advantage of the beautiful weather - thus the update is a day late!
The theme remains the same: low water, insane fishing. Now with that being said, some people will say that the fishing is slow. The deal is you can't sit and wait for fish to come to you. You have to be willing to cover water and find the pockets of fish. Yes there are still fresh kings moving into the river. It's not a "run", but people are catching them in Pulaski and Oswego. What is really encouraging to see are the numbers of atlantics being caught. This reintroduction has been a very long process, and this is potentially the best year for them we have seen in a very long time. But with that being said, we urge you to practice catch and release with these fish and to handle them with care. If we try our best to allow these fish to reproduce and make the investment now, it will yield much higher results in future seasons. If we don't, and we wipe them out again, it will set us back another decade or longer. So please take that into consideration.
The smallmouth fishing on Ontario continues to be incredible. If you saw Jim Root's Facebook Live video, you saw him breakdown what they were using and how they were using it. We carry everything in his video. The swimbaits, the jig heads, the blade baits. For the remainder of the season this bite should stay hot. If you've ever wanted to catch the smallmouth of a lifetime, you have a really decent shot at landing one over 5 pounds right now.
Oswego is fishing really good. Browns, salmon, steelhead. Centerpin or fly.
Lake Erie/The Niagara river is also heating up for trout. Guys were there this last weekend catching lake trout on a centerpin, Imagine that fight in current that's 204,700 ft³/s!
Here is the current 10 day weather forecast for Pulaski, NY.
