Salmon River Report 9/11/15

published 11 September 2015

The Salmon River is running at 335 CFS. There have been a few kings spotted in the lower river. The best fishing has been from the ball park to the staircase. The best baits have been egg sucking leeches, estaz flies and white egg sacs. We need cooler temperatures and some rain to get the first  true run of the year started. If you live near by you might want to take a shot at catching a couple Kings without dealing with the big crowds. If you live a couple of hours or more away I would give it a few more days to see what happens. A rainy weekend is forecast so lets hope that helps. The good news is we have staging fish outside the river, the bad news is their outside the river! Right now the river is a 1 on our scale.
