Salmon River Report 9/14

published 14 September 2015

The Salmon River is running at 350 CFS. We got quite a bit of rain over the weekend and the temperatures were much cooler. Guys fishing the bottom of the Salmon River this morning reported a few more kings then we have been seeing. The best fishing has been from the ball park to the staircase. The best baits have been egg sucking leeches, estaz flies and orange egg sacs. It looks like we're headed back to warmer temperatures this week with  rain predicted for next Saturday. This is typically the week we get the first true run of the year so lets hope that holds true, and they don't hold off as long as they did last year. If you live nearby you might want to take a shot at catching a couple Kings without dealing with the big crowds now. If you live a couple of hours or more away I would give it a few more days to see what happens. Right now the river is still a 1 on our scale, but a better 1 than last Friday!
