published 04 September 2015

The salmon river is running at 335 CFS Until 9:00 PM today, Fri, 335 CFS

Current plans for special flows in the future are as follows:
From 9:00 PM, Fri SEP 04, until 6:00 PM, Sun SEP 06, 750 CFS Whitewater release
From 6:00 PM, Sun SEP 06, until 11:59 PM, Wed SEP 09, 335 CFS. There has been a few kings spotted in the lower river from the town pool down to the black hole,  the best bait has been white egg sacs and black comet flies. We have a few reports of fish being caught on the Salmon River. The run isn't in full swing yet but things are looking good with some Salmon entering the river nearly every day. Our report for the Salmon River right now is a 2.

The salmon are staging in front of the Salmon River in 75-140 feet of water. Fish are being caught from Fair Haven all the way to Sandy Pond. The best depth right now is from 90' to 140' with a temperature of 50 degrees down 60'. The best lures have been the E.L hot tamale flasher with a crinkle green flyglow green e-chip and ultra green glo fly,  also a Pro-Troll chrome blue bubble e-chip with an A-TOM-MIK hammer fly. If you like running cutbait, try a 11in pig pen paddle with a Dreamweaver cut bait rig. A good spoon to try is the Michigan Stinger  Stingray yellow wiggler. When the sun comes up try the Pro-Troll pig pen e-chip with an A-TOM-MIK pro am fly, also try a ProTroll Burke's Valium attractor with an A-TOM-MIK pro am fly. Try a magnum Michigan Stinger Sea Sick Waddler on a 300-350 copper, try your Dipsy divers out 210-240 on a 2.5 setting. If you like fishing Lake Ontario for Salmon now is the time to be here.
