Salmon River and Lake Ontario Report

published 09 September 2014

This afternoon showed some signs of improvement with Salmon starting to show up in the estuary in small but noticeable numbers, 20 here, 50 there kind of groups. A small number of fish are being landed daily with most of those coming from the lower river. The water flow is at 350 CFS until midnight Wednesday 9/10, and the water temperature is 66 degrees. Cooler temperatures and rain over the weekend should move a few more fish into the river and hopefully get the river season into full swing. The river is a 2 on our scale.

The Lake Ontario fishing is excellent and you still have time for a few more weekends out there as long as the weather holds. The Lake is a 5 on our scale.
