Lake Ontario and Salmon River fishing report 6/1/20 published 02 June 2020
The Lake is producing some really nice fish right now. Most boats are getting good limits with some trophy brown trout being caught almost weekly. Fish seem to be moving a bit but are found fairly often in less than 50 feet. The hot bait in the shop has been the Michigan Stinger Crushed Black alewife.
Salmon fishing has been hit or miss. We had some strong winds the end of last week that pushed them out will but we're hopeful that we'll see a return of consistent Salmon numbers this week.
People are finding some really big smallmouth in the river on streamers and swimbaits. White is the go to color right now.
Lake Oneida is also producing some big fish and numbers, Both smallmouth and walleye anglers are reporting big fish being caught on the main lake and in the Oneida River on the east end of the lake.
