Lake Ontario and Salmon River Report

published 01 September 2014

Salmon Fishing on Lake Ontario is near its peak right now with excellent catches being reports daily. The Kings are starting to stage in front of the river in 40'-80' with some nice Coho's in the mix. The best lures have been A-Tom-Mik Big Fin UV Flies with an E-Chip Pig Pen flasher. J-plugs are also taking a few in standard colors Silver Bullet, and Bloody Nose.

The Salmon River is running at 750 CFS until midnight tomorrow night 9/2. There are some Kings showing up along with some nice Steelhead in the river. Your best bet for baits are egg sacs or estaz flies. The Lake is as good as it gets for Kings right now at a 5 on our scale. with the river being a 2 on our scale.

This King was landed Saturday on the Douglaston Run.

This King was caught this morning on Lake Ontario
