Lake Ontario is Starting to Set Up published 14 May 2014
The brown trout fishing is still very good from the Little Salmon River to the high rocks heading towards the nuke plant, with Browns being caught in 8-20 feet of water. For the last couple of days the best baits for Browns have been the Rapala Scatter Rap Ayu, and Michigan Stinger UV Chicken Wing. Lake Trout are being caught in 60-80 feet of water on or near the bottom on Michigan Stinger Stingray size Sea Sick Waddlers, with a few Salmon and Steelhead in the mix. The hot spoon for Steelhead so far has been the Michigan Stinger standard size UV Mixed Veggies. For the Salmon River this weekend may be your last shot at good numbers of Steelhead before the water temperature gets to high and they all head back to the lake. Water flow on the Salmon River is 750 CFS until midnight 5/14.
