Lake Ontario / Salmon River report 9-1

published 01 September 2016

The Salmon River is running at 335 CFS till midnight tonight 9/1, then going to 750 CFS for the weekend. In the last couple of weeks there have been a few fish caught in the river but no actual run yet.

Salmon are being caught in 90-130 feet of water from Oswego to Sandy Pond. The best lures to use in the morning have been a Green Pro Troll E-Chip attractor with an A-TOM-MIK crinkle green fly, also Michigan Stinger EChip Flasher Bikini Green Dot with an A-TOM-MIK hammer fly

We will be putting up regular reports now that the fall river season is here.  Right now the river is a 1 and the lake is a 4.
