Lake Ontario Report

published 22 August 2014

Salmon fishing on the east end of Lake Ontario remains steady with lots of big kings being caught. You need a King over 26 lbs. to make it into the top 20 of the LOC Derby board as of this afternoon with over a week to go. The best fishing still seems to be over deeper water with most fish coming out in the 300 foot range or deeper, down in the 45- 55 degree water. The Salmon River has a few fish in it but nothing big to report yet. More rain this afternoon might starting moving the Salmon closer to the river.

This King came on the charter boat High Adventure Sport fishing out of Oswego with Captain Troy Creasy.
