Lake Ontario Report

published 20 August 2014

The Lake Ontario Salmon fishing has greatly improved the last couple of days, with a lot of fish being caught and some big ones too. Most fish still seem to be out in the 300 foot depth and are mostly being caught on attractors and flies, or meat. Look for these fish to start moving closer to shore over the next week or so. The Salmon River has a small number of fish in but not enough to expect to catch one for sure if you made the trip up, look for this to also change in the next few weeks.

This beauty was caught aboard the Charter boat Cold Steel Sportfishing out of Oswego N.Y.
