Salmon River Festival Returns to Pulaski

PULASKI – The annual Salmon River Festival returns to Pulaski over Columbus Day weekend. From October 10 to 12, enjoy indoor and outdoor activities at a variety of venues throughout the village.

The weekend kicks off with a “meet-and-greet” at the River House Restaurant on Salina Street from 4 to 6 p.m. on October 10.

Family fun in the South Park on Jefferson Street runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 11 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 12.

Activities include children’s games and crafts, petting zoo, bounce house, and The Circle “C” Cowboy Chuck Wagon display.

Other attractions include fly-tying and casting demonstrations, live music, hoop dancers, a vendor fair, chicken barbeque and wine tasting.

On Oct. 11, the American Eagle Band opens the musical line-up in the South Park Bandstand at 10 a.m., followed by the Lisa Lee Trio at 1:30 p.m.

On Oct. 12, Brittany Cean takes the stage at 10 a.m. and Dam Dog at 1 p.m.

The Kallet Theater on Jefferson Street hosts the Salmon River Fest Fishing Expo, which is sponsored by the Fucillo Auto Mall and Time Warner Cable Sports Channel.

Doors are open from noon to 7 p.m. on both Oct. 11 and 12 to browse a variety of sportsman vendors and enjoy wine slushies from Ashley Lynn Winery of Mexico.

This year, a salmon smoke-off and fish cleaner challenge is scheduled along with the fishing derby.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 11, the Ringgold Fire Hall on Lake Street hosts an open house to observe Fire Prevention Week as well as the Salmon River Fine Arts Center’s Arts and Crafts Show.

The Pulaski Historical Museum on Maple Avenue will also be open for tours.

The Pulaski Lions Club presents stand-up comedian Moody McCarthy from New York City at 8 p.m. on Oct. 11. The Half-Shire Society on County Route 48 in Richland hosts the show.

Refreshments will be available and only 100 tickets will be sold. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased at Ted’s Gift and Jewelry on North Jefferson Street or by calling Beth Hallinan at 298-6218 or Linda Wart at 778-0649.

LD’s Alehouse on Jefferson Street hosts the second annual “The Run Rock-and-Roll Party,” scheduled at 8 p.m. on Oct. 11.

On Oct. 12 Archer’s End Zone Pub on Maple Avenue will hold the third annual “Wing-Off” from 1 to 3 p.m.
